In our social media-driven world, it is easy to see the highlight reel. You know the one I'm talking about, the perfect, polished life that from the outside we envy.

However, we don't always see what lies beneath the photos, the hurt, the pain, the scars a person carries, and the strength it took to wake up and put a smile on their face that day.

I can vividly remember when I hid behind this thick facade. We were brand new to our school and while I was very interested in making new friends I was going through my darkest season to date.

On the Bountiful Living podcast, we will explore the bountiful, abundant life we have in Christ. He empowers us to walk victory despite the challenges, trials, and adversity we encounter.

Hello friend, I am so glad you're here! I cannot believe we are approaching the fourth year of the Bountiful Podcast. A lot has changed since the Lord placed conviction on my heart in 2009 about the way I was living my life. I was focused on the things of this world instead of setting my mind on things above. There are so many times in life when I rely on my own strength, my own wisdom, my own knowledge, especially in times when the Lord has given me an assignment I did not choose. We must learn to rely on God to do the heavy lifting.

Salvation is a free gift from God through Christ alone. As it says in John 14:6, “He is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

It is vital to cut through the cultural noise telling us who Jesus is and who we are in Him. Join Katie, Jess and Laura on a deep dive through the Bible to uncover what it says about being a Christian.

As Christians, we have the same authority given to Christ to go into the world and share the good news of the Gospel!!

The good news of the gospel is simple.

Christ came to proclaim liberty to the captives, bring comfort to the mourning, and give hope to the afflicted.

Therefore, as His ambassadors, we have this great commission to:

1. Go and make disciples, teach them to obey everything I have commanded.

2. Make disciples of all nations (The Gospel is for everyone, everywhere)

3. We won't be doing this alone; through the Holy Spirit, Christ is always with us.

I came across this scripture today and had to share it. I was telling one of our daughters today as we were reading Psalm 91, that the Lord is our shield and buckler, which means His protection surrounds us with 360 degree protection, not just one sided protection.

🔥Then I stumble across this verse, that "He is a wall of fire all around." I have never pictured God that way, yet this is what He is declaring He is to His people.

Sometimes we don't feel safe. Whether it's an attack from the enemy, we are being persecuted, we're afraid, picture God as this today.

🛡️He is our shield. He protects us. He is the glory in our midst.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 states, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”

I find myself led to these verses continually for encouragement, reminding me, “Do not lose heart!”

Maybe you need to hear this today too that your hardship, your pain, the bitter pill of suffering will not destroy you.

“This momentary, light affliction is producing in us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all compassion.” 2 Corinthians 4:17

Life doesn't always turn out like we expect or plan. How do we navigate these roadblocks? Today we continue our study of the Book of Ezra we will identify some of the tactics the enemy can use against us to frustrate us and attempt to halt the work God is doing in our lives.

We find our victory in Christ: "We are hard pressed on all sides, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body...Therefore we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, yet our inner self is being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory that is far beyond comparison. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
