Hope for Today

Because of Christ, our HOPE can never be taken away. We know this in our head yet in reality we all experience hopelessness.

Whether it was that recent medical diagnosis, an empty bank account, or yet one more betrayal. Whatever it is today that is making you feel hopeless, I want to tell you my friend you do not have to STAY in that place of hopelessness.

Because of Christ, we have a Bountiful Life.

He is our eternal HOPE, that cannot burn up, or be taken away from you unless you allow it. We know that “the thief comes to steal, to kill and to destroy, but Christ has come for us to have life, until it overflows.” John 10:10

When we feel hopeless we are agreeing with the enemy. When we have hope we are agreeing with Christ.

Let’s take a look at 2 Corinthians 10:4-6 ESV, “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God and take every thought captive to obey Christ.”

When we are feeling hopeless this is a signal that our hope is misplaced. It’s human to feel hopeless and have other negative emotions and thoughts, but we cannot allow our feelings, especially those contrary to the character of Christ to rule in our hearts and minds.

So, we take that “thought” and that “feeling” and we put it in prison and make it obey Jesus.

We take every thought captive, by speaking the truth of HOPE found in God’s Word to your hopelessness. God’s word is the sword part of our spiritual armor that defends against the enemy.

We can come against him armed with the TRUTH of GOD’S WORD.

Let’s give the enemy a few jabs right now from Psalm 42:11 NIV, “Why my soul are you so downcast? Why so disturbed within me? PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD, for I will yet praise Him, My Savior and My God.”

Psalm 130:5, “I wait for the Lord, my soul waits and in His word, I hope.”

Romans 5:5, “And HOPE does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit whom He has given us.”

Romans 8:24, “For in this HOPE we are saved, But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for a hope they already have?

Romans 12:12 tells us to, “Rejoice in HOPE, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”

Romans 15:13, “Now may the God of HOPE fill you with all JOY and PEACE in believing, that you may abound in HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Titus 1:1-2, “Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness – 2 in the HOPE of eternal life, which God who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time.”

Psalm 25:5 “Lead me in your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You, I wait all the day long.”

Micah 7:7, “But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.”

Isaiah 40:31 NIV, “But those who HOPE on the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they shall run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

2 Corinthians 4:18, “as we look not to the things that are seen, but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”

Romans 15:12, “And again Isaiah says, ‘The root of Jesse will come, even He who arises to rule the Gentiles; in Him will the Gentiles hope.’”

Hebrews 11:11, “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.” Psalm 9:18, “But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish.”

Psalm 33:18, “But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear Him, on those who HOPE in His unfailing love.”God’s promise is not just for the Jew, but for all who believe.

When we declare God’s Word over our lives, over our circumstances, when we meditate on it day and night, it becomes more than a weapon to defend us, but a tree of life within us.

Proverbs 13:12 says, “Hope differed makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.”

It has never been easier to be in God's Word. We have it printed in so many languages and you can even download an audio Bible that you can listen to any time and anywhere. Keep filling your heart and mind with the word of God. God's Word is our defense against the darkness!
